Saints RB Julius Jones Amped to Face Former Team

New Orleans Saints running back Julius Jones will have some extra juice when his former team, the Seattle Seahawks, visit the Superdome this Sunday.

"They know (what they're missing)," Jones said according to Mike Triplett of The Times-Picayune. "There's a couple people up there that know what I can do, and those people were sad to see me go. But for the other ones, I definitely plan on showing them what I can do, what I have been doing -- and we'll leave it at that."

Jones led the team in rushing in each of his first two seasons in Seattle, but had fallen behind Justin Forsett and Leon Washington on the team's running back depth chart. Jones restructured his contract before the start of the season and gained 30 yards on 12 carries the first two weeks of the season.

Jones dressed, but did not play in a Week 3 win over the San Diego Chargers, and was inactive the following week in St. Louis. The Seahawks released Jones after acquiring Marshawn Lynch during the bye week.

Since arriving in New Orleans in Week 6, Jones has 123 yards rushing and 7 receptions for 21 yards in a part-time role over the last four games.

The Saints are expected to get Reggie Bush back from his broken fibula this week, but Jones hopes to continue to have his number called.

"All I can do is do what the coaches ask me to do, and whenever they give me an opportunity, make the best of it, " Jones added. "And so far I think I've done that, and I'll continue to do that for as long as I can."

The last time Jones faced a former team--a Thanksgiving Day game against the Dallas Cowboys in 2008--he gained 37 yards on 11 carries, fumbling twice. One of his fumbles was recovered by Dallas, thwarting a potential scoring drive. Dallas drove down the field to score a second first-quarter touchdown in the Cowboys' 34-9 win.
