Saints Release LB Clint Ingram

The New Orleans Saints have terminated the contract of linebacker Clint Ingram, reports Sheldon Mickles of The Advocate.

Ingram had microfracture surgery during the off-season, and has been on the team's physically unable to perform list. Ingram was eligible to resume practicing this week.

A third-round pick (80th overall) out of Oklahoma by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2006, Ingram (6-2, 240) started 46 of 56 games, totaling 194 tackles, 5.5 quarterback sacks and a pair of interceptions during his first four seasons in the NFL.

Not eligible for unrestricted free agency this off-season, Ingram was tendered at the "Original Round" level by the Jaguars, who rescinded that non-guaranteed one-year tender the day after the 2010 NFL Draft.

Ingram signed a one-year deal with the Saints on May 19.
