Seahawks DBs Jerry Gray to Take Texas Job

Seattle Seahawks secondary coach Jerry Gray will become the next secondary coach at the University of Texas, Leila Rahimi of KXAN in Austin, Texas reports.

Gray, a two-time All-American at Texas, joined the Seahawks' coaching staff last February after spending the previous four seasons with the Washington Redskins. Prior to that, Gray was the Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator from 2001-05, spent four seasons on the Tennessee Titans' coaching staff.

The Longhorns' secondary position opened up when Duane Akina accepted a similar position at the University of Arizona.

Gray will be the third Seahawks' position coach to leave after Pete Carroll's first season. Defensive line coach Dan Quinn has accepted the defensive coordinator position at the University of Florida, while quarterbacks coach Jedd Fisch will be the quarterbacks coach/offensive coordinator at the University of Miami.
