Seahawks Sign DT Jonathan Lewis

The Seattle Seahawks have signed free agent defensive lineman Jonathan Lewis, John Boyle of the Everett Herald reports.

Lewis, who was waived by the Cleveland Browns on June 15, participated in the Seahawks' voluntary mini-camp this week on a tryout basis, and undrafted rookie Barrett Moen (Minnesota) was released to fit Lewis on the 80-man off-season roster.

A sixth-round pick (177th overall) out of Virginia Tech by the Arizona Cardinals in 2006, Lewis totaled four tackles in four games as a rookie, but has not appeared in a regular season NFL game since.

This will be Lewis' second stint with the Seahawks, and the 6-1, 312-pounder has also had brief stints with the Oakland Raiders, Detroit Lions, and Jacksonville Jaguars during his career.
