The Seattle Seahawks have signed two players to "Reserve/Future" contracts, neither of whom finished the season on their practice squad.

A.J. Schable, a 6-4, 273-pound defensive end/long-snapper from South Dakota, has signed with the team after spending the last two seasons in the UFL (Sacramento Mountain Lions/California Redwoods).

Schable, 26, entered the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals in 2006, totaling 10 tackles and a fumble recovery on special teams in 11 games. Schable was waived with an injury settlement the following summer, and made brief appearances with the New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles in 2008.

Also signed was former USC tight end Dominique Byrd.

Byrd (6-3, 254) was a third-round pick (93rd overall) in 2006 by the St. Louis Rams. Byrd caught six passes for 83 yards and a touchdown in 14 games over two seasons before he was waived in the 2008 off-season.

After spending 2008 out of football, Byrd made the Arizona Cardinals coming out of training camp in 2009, but did not appear in a game before he was waived in November.

Byrd appeared in two games for the Cardinals last summer, but was waived as part of the initial roster cuts.

CFL cornerback Brandon Browner (6-3, 210) has officially signed with the Seahawks, who signed wide receivers practice squad wide receivers Dominique Edison and Patrick Williams to futures deals earlier this week.
