Steelers Place WR Limas Sweed on IR

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced that after clearing waivers on Monday, the Steelers have placed third-year wide receiver Limas Sweed on injured reserve.

Sweed injured his Achilles' tendon on May 2, requiring season-ending surgery.

To fill Sweed's spot on the 80-man off-season roster, the Steelers signed Isaiah Williams, a 6-3, 200-pound wide receiver from Maryland who spent part of last off-season with the Baltimore Ravens. Williams was waived before the beginning of training camp.
