Alright, that's a bit disingenuous, but the moves being made by the Jets GM certainly reek of a man who knows he has one last shot at keeping his job. Trading for Lito Sheppard makes no sense. Sure, the guy has some talent - so do 20 or so kids coming out in the draft in April who play the cornerback position. And any one of those kids could be molded and brought up through the Jets' program and made into the kind of player new Head Coach Rex Ryan wants.

Oh, that's right. Silly me. There IS no 'program' at Jets' headquarters, just a general manager trying to keep his job. Always a recipe for success...
