Texans DE Mario Williams Visits Sports Hernia Specialist
By admin
Houston Texans defensive end Mario Williams is visiting a specialist in Philadelphia regarding a hip injury, John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Williams suffered the injury in the third practice of Texans training camp. An injection to alleviate the inflammation has not reduced the soreness, prompting Williams to seek a second opinion.
The identity of the specialist is not revealed, but with Williams headed to Philadelphia to visit a sports hernia specialist, he's most certainly going to visit with Dr. William Meyers at Drexel University College of Medicine.
Dr. Meyers has repaired sports hernias for countless professional athletes, including Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb's sports hernia in 2005, and drew comparisons to Dr. James Andrews from New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton after operating on eight Saints since 2008.
