Vikings Waive WR Marko Mitchell

The Minnesota Vikings have waived wide receiver Marko Mitchell, Tom Pelissero of ESPN Twin Cities reports.

Mitchell (6-4, 218) was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the seventh-round (243rd) of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Nevada.

Mitchell led the Redskins in receiving during the 2009 pre-season with 11 passes for 113 yards and 3 touchdowns, which earned him a spot on the team's 53-man roster. In 10 games last season, Mitchell caught 4 passes for 32 yards and recorded one tackle on special teams.

The Redskins waived Mitchell in May, and after making the required stop-over with the Detroit Lions, ended up in Minnesota in June. Mitchell caught one pass for the Vikings during the pre-season, a 71-yard touchdown from third-string quarterback Sage Rosenfels against the St. Louis Rams.
