The Good: The Aarons, Rashan Gary and Chandon Sullivan (not just the pick 6 six), corners in coverage the last 3 quarters...
The bad: Lindsley, Adams, Ervin injuries
The ugly: Tackling in the first quarter, waaaaay too many drops......

The Good how about Kirksey? 10 solo tackles 2 assists!
Next closest 4 players with a total 4 combined each.
I dont get it.
A few splash plays negates a full 4 quarters of solid play?

Pretty hard to do at this point. Even when Clark comes back we're going to have to just out score teams. Problem is that's hard to do when they're controlling time of possession.

Isn't Snacks Harrison still out there as a free agent? Damn we could use a run stuffer like him.

packers offered him a contract. He said no. Apparently he is set on retiring. He tweeted out himself that the packers had made him an offer.

packers where not the only ones to offer him a contract so I'm assuming him not getting enough money is not why he is not on the team but sure blow the salary cap on one player with arthritic knees who has said they are incredible panful in the cold making it impossible to extend any one of Bakh, Jones, or even King.

Went up and down with Peter from APC on twitter regarding how GB needed to draft a DL...specifically someone who can play both nose and DE....especially the way we run the 3/4

I mentioned how crucial it was and how we can't just have a line with edge and linebacker types. He crucified me for it and went on and on about speed etc.
I said watch...if a DL goes down( and we are short handed)...we will be screwed. Because then LBs corners and safties start getting hurt taking on bigger bodies too often.Had Detroit stuck with the run game similar to how SF does...the score wouldn't be what it was. I hope clark gets well quick. Or KeKe Montravious step up ALOT more then we've seen. The offense and the turnovers have been a pleasure to watch though. Go Pack Go

Haven’t gone back and watched, but it looked like Keke took on a larger role as the game went on. Maybe that was a result of Lancaster being dinged and Adam’s toe, but it looked like he was more effective? Be interesting to see some analysis.

The Good;
The manufacturer of the jet pack someone hid underneath Jones Jersey!
Scott’s girlfriend for kissing his shoe before the game.
The sideline paramedics for repairing the Lions D backs ankles from Davante Adams shake-a-magic moves Adams laid on them!
The Bad:
The refs and the Lions total bewilderment on the Stratford fumble challenge. If the call would have been reversed and an incomplete pass was called... the Lions then should have been penalized because the ball hit a lineman... making him an ineligible receiver.
The Ugly:
My attempt at wit.... sorry but giddy with this team! GO PACK!

The Good: Aaron Jones. Man he was a stud today. Hope he is making money from that shades company.
The Bad: Injuries. Thank goodness we have depth
The Ugly: MVS headshots. Amazed he wasn't knocked out of the game which is a testament to him.

Like fan since59 said , the Packers don't respect the middle ,they didn't want to pay Martinez 10 million a year just to clean up so they brought in Kirksey at a discount ,this will be the Packers downfall this season ,a weak D line and linebackers making tackles downfield instead of securing a gap. Blake said the Packers don't value the inside linebacker , after the Saints exploit this they better bring Clay back to shore up the middle.

Martinez was out of position , slow to the gaps and behind in coverage all through the Bear game. Same old song, Kirksey is better and Barnes can cover.

Blake made a lot of tackles but not that many behind the gain line. Do not see missing him is grounded in anything thus far.

As I said before – this defense is scary. Scary bad most of the times and scary good sometimes. Thought that AR did not have a great game accuracy wise. He made some fantastic throws but was not as accurate this game as last game – but that throw to MVS was a killer. So when your number 1 receiver has to sit out the 2nd half with an injury and you can still move the ball seems pretty good to me. PS some of the drops that the announcers were commenting on especially MVS in the end zone – would have been fantastic catches and if Jones would have dropped that fantastic catch that he made – that would have been a drop or a good play by the Dback?

Uhh that defense allowed 10 pts thru 3 qtrs last week and 14 pts thru 3 qtrs this week (without Clark). I don't think you understand that is easily winning football.
The defense isn't dominant but its pretty good and appears to be getting better.

Stroh, you are correct. This defense is doing a pretty good job when it’s close. The angst is misplaced.

Yes, Jones has the best catch of the day down the sidelines. He is not always perfect as a receiver but he is getting better and has the talent. I wonder if he is running that route if Ervin is healthy.
MVS’s ‘drop’ in the end zone went off his finger tips, looked to me to be just out of reach. Perhaps there is a technical adjustment that might have helped, but I’m not going to claim that was one that should have been caught. Tonyan had the ball knocked out by a perfectly timed play as he went down. The only two really bad ones that I recall were Sternberger’s. There will always be drops/near completions. Too much I think is being made of today’s.

Good: Packers o-line (allowed Rodgers to dictate the terms)
Bad: Lions commitment (that mid-game zone out really cooked their goose)
Ugly: Russ Ball’s impending decision (Bakh or Jones - unless the Packers can free up cap space it’s going to be ciao for one of them)
......... fancy a pay restructure Mr Rodgers???
JohnnyLogan
September 20, 2020 at 10:52 pm
He'll sign them both. Kevin King is gone. Maybe Linsley. Lancaster and Lowry can both leave. Rodgers deal restructured. He'll find a way. Those are two All-Pros in their prime. You re-sign them.

Lancaster is and will remain cheap. Not bad depth. Lowry is not justifying his contract. Is he being used differently? At this point he should be sliding into the upgrade category.

The Good: Rashan Gary had his best game as a pro. Delighted to see him start to assert himself as he gets comfortable at the OLB position.
The Bad: Jace Sternberger's hands. Those were ugly drops.
The Ugly: Our D-Line without Clark. Not sure if their is anyone out there that could help, but Gute's neglect of the D-Line during the offseason will hurt this team at some point when we don't score 40+ points.

September 20, 2020 at 10:26 pm
WE have K. Clark, who is hurt and will be limited for multiple games and the rest have not been proven to be reliable starters in any way. Guys get washed out and can't get off blocks nor penetrate into the backfield These things don't get fixed in the draft as low as we pick. Immediate need is 2 reliable starters, but one would do wonders especially when Clark mends. This wasn't a good DL class in the last draft. We are out of sync with DL talent and an offense that is humming. We need a trade partner for depth and a free agent run stopper stat.
Stroh
September 20, 2020 at 11:54 pm
This past draft was poor in DL talent. The '19 draft was stellar on DL and pass rushers and we drafted one. Gary is playing some pretty good football. Only guy i might have preferred was Simmons who went to Tenn Titans.

September 21, 2020 at 10:52 pm
Gary is a pleasant surprise so far. He is motivated and works hard, the only question for him was when for me. I just see us falling short without Keke being healthy and dominant next to a healthy Clark. Better get some help now than need it later and not be able to find it. Maybe play Jackson at CB more and use him for trade bait after a few more games. The alternate is rotate Z or Gary to the DL a lot.

I agree last year's DT class was not great, but either R. Blacklock (TCU) or R. Davis (Alabama) would have been a lot better than M. Adams on the Packer D-line and both were available if we had traded down from our #1 instead of up for Love. At least we would have had some quality D-line depth with starting potential. Water under the bridge now.......

A few thoughts....
Please, please, please... let this continue long enough for me to see the pompous internet dingleberries like Stephen A. and Jason La Canfora eat sh!t for constantly saying that Gutey shamefully disrespected poor Aaron Rodgers by not drafting a receiver.
That said, I'm sorry, but I can't get off-the-rails excited about MVS just yet. He's still got a full blown case of the yips, and it will come back to bite us if he doesn't get his confidence back. We need him. He's the only legit burner that we have. I think the added dimension of a true deep threat by itself is a big part of why this year's O is more potent.
Aaron Jones, fifth round draft pick - Thank you, Ted Thompson. You're alright, buddy.
Get well, Kenny Clark. Stay well, Davante. And Corey Linsley. And Tyler Ervin. And ....
Gary had a nice game. But there are far too many people acting like he somehow just became an all pro.
Most impressive thing about the Packers after two games? O-line domination.

The Good: Aaron Jones. Period. Bob Tonyan! Our O line! Chandon's Pick 6! Jaire's solid play! ARod, of course! MVS and Lazard! Jamaal Williams! AJ getting snaps! 2-0! LaFLeur going 8-0 in divisional play since becoming coach! Opie's punting! New Glarus Staghorn going down nicely!
The Bad: our Run Defense. Maybe we can find a run stuffer, somewhere. If not in FA, we may need to use a few draft picks on the DL.
The Ugly: Injuries mounting up. How is Adams? I'd let KC sit and heal up, through the bye.

The Good: Effective, Creative, and Efficient Offense = Happy ARod!
The Bad: No Fans and Terrible “The Wave” sound effects when we are on offense
The Ugly: Dumb Packer Fans that Raged and Raged about Rashan Gary last year being a bust! Fools!!!

Guam, you aren’t usually pessimistic. This defensive line....held the Lions to 91 yards rushing and 14 points until the game was out of reach. Without Clark..
Minus Peterson’s 25 yard run they had 66 yards on 20 carries.

If Sternberger still PF eligible get him there now! He is not ready for the prime time yet, maybe IF he catches one will be great for his self confidence! Right now, Tonyan and Lewis the best two!
