There's a reason Rasul Douglas bounced around the rosters of five teams before being picked up by the Packers, and it's not his stellar coverage or ball skills.

He turned a stretch of good games last season into making bank, but as former Giants GM George Young so accurately noted, "I've never seen someone play better because they were getting paid more."

First I have to say that It was nice to see Love looking good! We have no clue what the future holds, but we can say with certainty that Love looked like a different QB from the last time we saw him playing a meaningful game last year against the Chiefs. I don't care what defense the Eagles were playing. HIs throws were on point and he had some lasers out there. He was in rhythm and looked really good.

And before everyone comments about they should have traded Rodgers, lets remember that the Packers had seen Love every day in practice. They decided to go with Rodgers for a reason. We aren't at practice to see what he looks like.
Now that being said, last night eerily reminded me of Rodgers - Cowboys game in 2007. Favre gets injured, Rodgers comes in and plays lights out. Gave the Packers confidence to move onto Rodgers the following year. We will see if Love has similar fate, but we may soon find out how good Love is as they may choose to keep going with him as Rodgers is hurt.
And lets give Rodgers some serious props. He is out there playing in a lot of pain.

I completely agree with the choices of game balls/lame calls. These were my picks as well.

Game Balls:
Dillon/Jones - I will add Jones to this because both RB's looked great last night. Dillon looked the best he has looked all year.

Watson - Wow! All I can say is wow. He is so damn explosive! The game has slowed down for him, he is finally healthy and damn he is starting to make a mark in this league.
I can't wait to see Watson and Doubs on the field together!

Nixon - We finally found a return specialist. Its only been 84 years (thinking of that gif typing this), since we have had an actual return game.

Lame Calls:

Defense - Where to start? It's a full circle. And it comes back to coaching. No matter how I want to say this, its coaching. Does Joe Barry deserve to be blamed for everything? No. But there are certain things that you have to do in coaching, and that is to make sure the players are doing exactly what you want. They have to do more to drill to players that they can't be giving up the edge. They have to stop playing nickel when the offense is running the ball down our throats. They have to stop allowing CB's to be playing 10+ yards off the ball. 3rd and 14 and our 2 CB's are playing 14 yards off the ball. WHY? If Barry is giving CB's that leeway, then take the leeway away!

We can't place all the blame on Barry. They had an insane amount of missed tackles. I want to say I saw they had 15+ missed tackles. (I thought i saw 17, but could be wrong).

I just know its time. Its past due. Its time to let Barry go. And go get Jim Leonard from Wisconsin! That is who LaFleur wanted to be running his defense. Leonard would do an amazing job as our DC. I'm sure Leonard is ready to move on as well. Lets make this happen!

Three and out!
- Jenkins getting called for holding on one of the best pancake blocks I have seen this year is fitting for todays officiating.

- I thought it was great last night seeing former Packers QB Kurt Benkert talking about Rodgers interception. He explained why Davis ran the wrong route. Then you have noted Rodgers hater Peter Bukowski blaming Rodgers for it. Benkert responded to him telling him to take his hate shades off, that they were clouding his judgment. I just thought it was great. I wish Benkert was still in GB.

- Rodgers/Love. I get that Rodgers wants to take his time in the offseason and decide if he wants to come back and play or not. He has earned the right. But the Packers need to go to him and say, if you are planning on coming back great. But if you are not we have to find out what we have with Love.
IF Rodgers is going to come back next year then it is more beneficial that he plays to continue to build chemistry with the young WR's. But they should at least give Love a few games to allow Rodgers to heal as well. IF Rodgers thinks he wants to retire, then they need to tell him that they need to find out what they have in Love.
I'm sure its not an easy decision either way, but they really need to start that conversation so they can figure out the best way to go for the rest of the year.

I would add Kingsley Enagbare and Justin Hollins to game balls as well. Enagbare was going up against Lane Johnson, who the announcers said hasn’t allowed a sack yet this year. He has turned into a terrific run defender, and contributed on the 3rd down stop that led to the turnover on downs in the 1st quarter. With time, he could develop into a premier starter. Hollins because it can’t be easy coming in 3 days ago and learning the playbook, yet he still managed to sack Hurts.

Walker had some rough moments, but you can see the potential. With better coaching and more experience, he could become an all-pro.

As much as I've loved him up until now, Jaire is becoming a problem. He seems to spend way too much time practicing his celebrations and not enough time perfecting his craft, he has been beat way too many times this year and yet he acts like he's the no.1 corner in the NFL.
Maybe he's uncomfortable in Barry's scheme but he needs to get back to where he was, before he was the no.1 paid corner in the NFL.

I think we can place all the blame in coaching… Barry especially… and we need major changes in FO personnel… MM to be specific!!! Fire their asses! Immediately!!!

Any defensive coordinator that lets someone rush for 363 yards deserves to be fired. Any head coach who doesn’t fire him promptly deserves to be fired.

Game Balls:
Nixon--is a keeper. He's been OK playing defensive snaps, but really good in STs and has found a niche as a return man--goes a million miles an hour with his hair on fire. Perhaps more than you could reasonably ask for from your 5th CB.

Watson--freakish speed. Caught that crosser and just ran away from the coverage. Nice pass by Love to hit him in stride, but if that were Lazard or Cobb, it's likely a 20 yard gain. Gotta find a way to keep him on the field. He seems to take more hard hits than you'd like to see. As one tweet said: he's a 'cheat code'.

Jones/Dillon--ran hard all night. Philly has a physical D that plays a beat past the whistle and lays a hit most plays. They likely both needed the whirlpool after last night, but they played well.

OL--playing better every week. The run game was effective, and mostly 12 had time to get the ball out against an aggressive defensive front 7.

Love--admittedly threw a couple high, and a little behind a couple receivers, but I think that's to be expected. Made good decisions, mostly, and moved the offense. I think 12 goes on IR this week and Love gets his chance against some credible, but not elite D's over the next few weeks. This gives him and LaF a chance to run the offense. Looking forward to it.

Lame Calls
The defense--I don't know what to say that hasn't been said. Through the first 8 games or so, I'd been an apologist for this group--because the offense had been so anemic. Not anymore. Terrible, undisciplined play, and a repeat of 2021's ST debacle is starting to brew. Too many young guys who are learning to play the game to allow them to languish in a system that doesn't optimize their strengths, put them in a position to play well, or stress them on their fundamentals. Admittedly, when there are 320 lb OL running free on the second level, it's hard to do much, but something needs to be done to reclaim this unit, and the axe falls at the top, Joe Barry.

Mason Crosby--at this stage, he can't handle KOs anymore, even when the weather is warm. Maybe with this season in the trash can, you just let him play it out with dignity, or maybe you activate your PS kicker and just have Crosby do FGs. Whatever the case, father time is undefeated and we're seeing the last few games of a Packer stalwart.

Savage--demoted and now hurt. He appears to have no future in GB.

Let’s not give too much credit for the stop on 4th down early in the game.. it was a fumbled snap. It is a key reason the packers hung around for awhile.
In reality.. another bad draft for Gutekunst.. our stars on defense are overrated ( Clark, Alexander) and our first round pick is a joke.
Simply put.. discussing players is a waste. The GM and staff need to be fired at seasons end. Gutekunst should not make another pick. MLF head coaching fantasy died with Rodgers finally becoming an aging QB with diminishing skills.
Poor Rich Bisaccia.. the only coach that showed up this year. While it hasn’t been perfect let’s not forget how bad the unit he inherited was.. and I’m sure he was forced to keep putting Amari Rodgers out there.
There is not future in GB with Gutekunst and MLF. Period.

Game: Watson looked like Lofton running a Jordy route. Love impressed getting the passes out on time, throws a nice ball and was mostly accurate. Needed to run even more, both backs were great and the the OL is better run blocking than pass pro. Jones ran a nice route and then improvised as AR hoped he would. Defensively, Hollis set the edge much better than any OLB has all season (Preston should be playing DE). S-wise, Nixon’s the one! Bisaccia should replace Barry immediately.
Lame: This game illustrates the hill I am willing to die on: OL and DL determine who wins the game. The Eagle’s lines are far superior to GB’s.

Enagbare is proving to be a steal in the fifth round. He is quickly developing into a solid OLB and will provide the Packers with great OLB depth along with Smith and Gary next year.

Walker is up and down - he was very good in the previous game and looked bad last night at Philly. He only started for one year at Georgia and his lack of experience is showing. He is a good enough athlete that I think he will develop into a good ILB eventually.

Love looked composed and reasonably accurate throwing the ball despite coming in late to a pressure situation. Would definitely like to see him get more playing time.

Gute's 2022 draft is starting to look like a home run. Walker, Wyatt, Watson, Tom, Doubs and Enagbare could all be starters eventually and Toure has interesting potential. Rhyan is the only potential miss at this point and he still could turn it around.

Game balls - Watson, Aaron Jones, AJ Dillan, Rudy Ford, Kingsley Enagbare, Justin Hollins, Keisean Nixon, Jordan Love.

Lame calls - Kenny Clark, Dean Lowry, Rasoul Douglas, Adrian Amos, Jaire Alexander, Joe Barry.

Meh - Walker, McDuffy, Smith, Garvin, OL, MLF.

On a side note: The Badgers hired Luke Fickell to take over the head coaching job, stepping over fan and player favorite Jim Leonhard.

The Packers defensive scheme sucks. Is there anyone out there to disagree? The Packers put up 33 points against the #2 ranked defense. The problem isn't the offense regardless of who is at QB. It's the defense.

Leonhard interviewed with MLF last year and it appeared he was offered the job as Packers DC then went with his heart and stayed at Wisconsin. With the Badgers season all but over(they likely will get an invite to the Little Johnny's Greasy Burger Bowl) it might be a good time to send Joe B. to the showers and offer Jim the DC job now before other offers come in. Leonhard took a bunch of mostly inexperienced players at Wisconsin and made them into a cohesive unit. He would have some talent to work with in Green Bay.

I agree with much of the lame balls and game calls. Dillon finally looked like a power back. If he hits the line with pace and direction he is effective. Still, goes down way to easily on first contact for a big man. Too bad Mike McCarthy and his pad level technology has left the building.

I know everyone wants to fire Joe Barry - he was a bad hire BUT like Pettine and even Capers, Barry is playing a weak hand. For a 3-4 defense, the Packers have one of the weakest D-lines in the league. Both Thompson and Gutekunst failed to draft enough GOOD big uglies to clog the middle and collapse the pocket. We still trot Dean Lowry out there only to watch the line get pushed for 5 yards before the tackling even begins. We made strides to actually get some talent at linebacker but unless we fix the trench, this defense will continue to get pushed around.

Big difference between Philly tackling and Packer tackling, particularly in the secondary. As strange as it sounds, maybe the rebuild needs to start on the defense.

That is so damn disheartening. These guys just can't tackle! WTF? Watching other NFL games it's almost startling to see crisp tackling where ball carriers are stopped and even fall backwards when tackled. And, it's almost a given that we'll yield yardage just shy of what's needed for a first down on third down.

Has Joe Barry put his house up for sale yet?

If Barry remains DC, I will lose any and all confidence in MLF's ability to lead anything of importance. If he makes the decision to let Barry do a "Drayton" all season long, he's an incompetent, toothless HC.

If he gets overruled by Mark Murphy, the self anointed GM, then The Flower is a coward and a yes man.

Need to fire Barry, appoint Gray as interim DC and begin a search for a new DC right now. Gray would be on the list...similar to Leonard auditioning as Badgers HC. McIntosh's search was inspired, landing Luke Fickell.

Who does the search and hire in Green Bay...probably Murphy, sadly. It certainly won't be Gutey although Murphy will insist any new hire was a "committee decision". All BS because he wades in and takes over all the big decisions on the football side. Mark Murphy sucks as a GM. He should stick to sledding hills. Better yet, retire already.

As I watched the footage of 12 walking out of the building I thought we just saw his last throw as a packer. What a sad way to go out. Maybe he’ll get a few good seasons in with another team.

As exciting as it was to see Jordan Love standing tall in the pocket and throwing darts as quarterback of the Packers (game ball), it was as frustrating to see the defense get gashed repeatedly so as to not allow Love more opportunities on the field (lame call).

With "Gut Reactions", The G, B and U, and Game/Lame all within 12 hours of SNF, I'm not sure what to add.

So, some other reactions:

I agree that the Olinemen-pushing-the-ballcarrier play has to go. It's an ugly new wrinkle. 30-plus years ago, it was fun and innovative to see Refrigerator Perry line up in the backfield to throw a lead block or to carry the ball. This new trend is just an eyesore.

Quay Walker lacks polish and experience...and most likely, good coaching...but I think he'll be a very good player. Not every LB enters the NFL like a Lawrence Taylor, Luke Kuechly or Bobby Wagner. He'll be okay, I think.

On the first interception, I like that AR dodged a sack and tried to make a play. It was third-and-long, and at most, the play cost us 10 or so yards of field position. What I didn't like was that for all the kudos the Oline received, there were at least 3 plays where the Birds' pass rush came almost untouched right up the middle.

Nixon is a lot of fun to watch as a return man.

As a huge AR fan, I truly hope this wasn't his last game of the season, let alone of his career in GB. I get that he's been controversial , but he's also a gamer, has played well enough over the years (regular season and postseason) to have won several Super Bowls and frankly (though I won't argue vociferously against Brady) is the best QB I've ever seen in a lot of years of watching the NFL.

Give credit to Love and that part of the coaching staff -- he looked good and decisive out there, and threw a good ball.

There is absolutely no reason to let Aaron Rodgers hit the field again this year. I don't care if he "Checks Out OK" or not.

The Green Bay Packers need to see what Jordan Love can do the last 5 games of the season. Five games would be a decent sample size to make a decision on this kid's future. Gutey made his bed and whether he short-sheeted himself or not, we need to know if Jordan Love can ball or not.

On the flip side, how can you sit a guy who is being paid 22 percent of your cap?

At this point, I hope Aaron plays Sunday against duh bares. I think Love can beat duh bares, which doesn't actually help us in the scheme of things, unless we win out and miraculously sneak in a "Wild Card" spot, which isn't likely.

Gutey has positioned himself for the biggest damned if you do/damned if you don't in the history of the Packers.

Barry has lost this defense. Barry has no answers for anything. Ever.

The Packer Fan in me wants us to beat duh bares every time we play them, no matter what. Despite Barry and our defense, I believe we win Sunday no matter who plays QB.

Even with this crappy defense I think its possible to win out...to go into Philly and play offensively like that was pretty good...to play like that defensively...well I can't even imagine they would play that horrible again especially against lesser teams...

Would love to clean house after the season but Gute and MLF have just been extended so I doubt that will happen. However at least we should chuck Barry and probably everyone on the defensive staff. Our pass defense was not very good last night. There were only saved by the fact that the Eagles didn't' need to throw much because the run defense allowed 363 yards. Packers need a total defensive makeover, starting with the coach, attitude and physical players. This BS with the defense has been going on since the 2010 SB victory. It's frustrating, its inexcusable and it's embarrassing. Long overdue to build a real defense and with an actual NFL level DC and staff. Thanks, Since '61

That feeling of a perfect Fall day, the smell outside after a Spring rain or Summer BBQ, and in today's case, having closure on 2022 playoff elgibility with a sprinkle of top 10 draft slot to boot. As a fan, I feel R-E-L-A-X has taken on a whole new meaning on this frosty November morning.

--Week 12 and we FINALLY see Dillon being utilized in the pass game like season's prior.
--With the exception of leading his receivers better on throws, Love was fantastic. Being a 4 life path, he is all business, no bullshit.
--Us fans have clamored for change with the obvious for weeks, months, and yes, a few of us stout no-nonsense prognosticators for years...each game this franchise peels back to reveal another layer of incompetence as they hang themselves. I'm thrilled to see the majority of CurdNation take off the beer googles and unite demanding a better product and execution on the field.
--Is it just me, or is RCB the only CB position Douglas has shown any competence playing? I posted a few times last off season that packaging him with Rodgers & Adams to Denver for picks galore + Jeudy & Surtain was the move they needed to make; if there's one thing this franchise excels at (other than blowing smoke up their own asses), it's failing to sell high.

Agree with everything but your opinion on Rodgers. Love threw some nice passes, up to Jones. But the OL turned him into a Robot. His throws became hurried! His pocket awareness broke down.
The WRs are improving. And I want Rodgers to keep putting pressure on them. And this OL! If Love starts; you'll focus on Love, and not the team.

The Bad: my anger is no longer at Berry he is who he is we have known that. Lafluer should be fired for hiring him at this point. Joe Berry is one of the worst d coordinator in the history of the nfl that is on lafluer both need to be handed pink slips today.

Quay walker is not being used correctly and when he is he is good so I blame lafluer for this. I was to young to remember the 80s but I get now.

Let (improving) OL fire off the ball and hand off 30 times a game. Minimum.
Let Love dink and dunk off play action. Take on occasional deep shot (Watson!)
On the other side of the ball ---NO chance we'll see a Lombardi-type defense, but how about we return to the "bend but don't break" days.
Win 3 Division games: Bears. Lions, and let's steal one at home from the Vikes just to finish strong.
And then get ready for THE most important off-season maybe in the history of the franchise.

Rewatching the game so I can stop and start. Lowry is simply awful. On Hurts' second long run in the 1st quarter, Barry has Lowry lined up in a three-man rush with no one on either side of him for three yards. Hurts must have looked at that and thought I can run my entire family through there. As easy as pushing a stroller, Lowry is shoved aside, and there's no one within ten yards of Hurts for the next 30 yards. Then on the 1st TD, they go right over him and he's flat on his back in the end zone.

Lowry is pushed, shoved, flattened... and yet Barry keeps inserting him in there? You're playing a 3 man front and one of them is Lowry? They're running down your throat and you don't make any adjustments?

Barry is clueless. As my dad used to say, "You can't argue with stupid."

I continue to think there is talent on this defense but Barry is playing checkers with chess pieces.

1. First, this was game 11 and our tackling and pass d isnt any better then game one. No improvement since week one.

2. Second, Rodgers goes into a shell once the tosses a pick. Then its screen passes galore for no yards and runs. Hell no he aint throwing it down field and what have another embarrassing interception. This isnt about winning but about saving face and not looking bad. AKA playoff games.

3. Run game is an enigma. Every other game its good. No consistency.

4. Barry had no defensive HC experience and was strapped with Savage, Amos, Douglas, Stokes and a jive ass Alexander who thinks he is the best corner in football and cant tackle or cover that well. Highest paid corner in football. WHF

This team lacks talent accross the board.
