Gut Reactions: LaFleur, Rodgers and Packers no-show against the Saints

Aaron gives his gut reactions to the Packers embarassing loss to the Saints.

  • That looked a lot like a team that spent the summer reading their press clippings.
  • The Packers were held hostage all offseason by the quarterback on display today? Really?
  • I can't believe how unprepared this team looked.
  • Joe Barry has lots of energy you guys.
  • That redzone pick from Aaron Rodgers was absymal rookie shit.
  • Where was all the motion? The jet sweep action? That offensive gameplan was garbage.
  • I know it felt like this game was over before this moment, but this game was over when Za'Darius got that garbage roughing call.
  • I'm so fucking mad.
  • This defense played soft and passive and got their ass handed to them.
  • Amari Rodgers doing Tyler Ervin things? Hello?
  • I'm glad Rodgers demanded they trade for Randall Cobb so he could be a complete afterthought.
  • Burn the tape.
  • See you next week.

Barry has ridden the coat tails of nepotism to failure at every stop at DC. This was a Panic hire after Leonard turned down the job. Entire organization has been reactive and not proactive for years.

Yeah I mean what the fuck where they thinking? Seems like when their top candidate(jim Leonard) turned them down they threw the remaining candidates names in a hat and did a blind draw because I have a hard time believing he was #2 on the list. His resume was sketchy at best.I know its still early but I didnt like what I saw today. A turnover machine like Winston with those 2nd rate receivers. I'm pressing those guys and making him beat my guys with tight throws. Put a spy on Kamara. King is not an every down cb.

Exactly: QB12's trade value just went way down.

I agree with every word that Nags wrote.

DC looking like a dud.

Why was the run not a major part of our game plan?

Week #2 at home vs DET - a replay of this BS and it's over for the Packers in 2021 and it's over for QB12 in GB. Maybe Rodgers has "Zenned" himself into slo-mo.

Aaron Jones comment was interesting - from the inside it felt great right up until real bullets began to fly.

So the NFL North went 0-4!

LaFleur has been at his worst after by weeks. He’s shown a capability to be out thought by good coaches and issues motivating. That showed up yesterday. If Barry is really that devoid of ideas, not only will this season be long and painful, but we will really need to look hard at LaFleur’s ability to judge coaching hires.

What do you expect when Rodger's takes zero snaps in the preseason. This happens yearly and he does start slow. Everyone, including myself, was so anxious to see Love and how well he can or can't play.

I think we need to make sure our starters are ready for the first game of the season and that means they need to play some in the preseason!

Packers were not prepared and got pushed around on both sides of the line. Rodgers had little time though he sure did not look like he did last year. Play calling was poor, and have to give the Saints credit. They were motivated and flew around the ball all day. Winston looked like a decent QB, though had so much time in the pocket. The whole team lost this game.

It's possible Rodgers panicked and was trying too much for long passes.
He may have done the same thing last year in the regular season loss to the Bucs.
I could be wrong, but it's something to look into.
With plenty of time in a game for a comeback, is Rodgers too rash in trying to make up the deficit too fast?
Also, how well does Rodgers keep his composure in the pocket against a fierce pass rush, and how good is he at finding open receivers?
I want to be truly fair to Rodgers, but this is a question important for the good of the whole team.
Does Rodgers at times get intimidated or impatient in hectic situations of adversity, or is it a matter of him not getting enough support from his teammates?

This is his form when the the game becomes too pressurized for him. He reverts to sandlot football - holding on the ball too long and targeting only certain players. He needs to be sent to remedial QB class - taught by Professor T. Brady - perfecter of the 1-2-3 drop, throw system.

If you're right, AP, then Rodgers has a lot to work on right now rather than getting involved in personnel and coaching.
Even when someone is great at something, he can get better -- and it's in the pressurized games that we need Rodgers to really excel.

I highly doubt that at his age and stage that he would be interested in a "style" makeover. If you recall, his resistance to the MLF system in Year 1. That's why I'm more excited with Love - because I believe that he's much more tractable (and suitable) to the offensive system than A.R. It's not so much that A.R. can't do it - it's just that he doesn't want to do it (which shouldn't be that surprising).

It may be a matter of choice for the Packers to make as of Monday.
Even if the Packers continue to get off to a slow start due to the way things were handled in the offseason and preseason, it's a long regular season in which there is time to turn things around.
There has to be a real dedication and determination, though.

The last dance! Super Bowl season! Hahahahahahshaha! As Vic Ketchman would say, “They ate the pizza.” They believed the homer media’s press clipping and waited for the Saints to roll over for them. Gotta win them on the field boys, not in the press room.

Total disgrace. Smart decision not playing starters in preseason. All out of shape and not ready to play. Waste of money signing Jones and letting Lindsey walk. RB;s a dime a dozen and all pro linemen hard to find. Joe Barry is a joke and Kevin King wouldn't start at the University of Alabama.

We’re off to a flying stop!
I don’t think that I have seen the Packers look this bad since the 70s. Pathetic, embarrassing, disgraceful performance.

The team was totally unprepared to play on both sides of the ball.

On the positive side, we don’t have to deal with the pressure of remaining undefeated as the season goes on.

Burn the tape. Start over next week. Thanks, Since ‘61

Been telling people all summer you can make Rodgers play green bay or nowhere but the man's heart is no longer playing in Green Bay .. You can't force someone to lead your team that doesn't want to be their.. Your management choose this path live with it .. Lower your expectations maybe 8 wins is a victory play the kid this is not even close to a championship team ..

Trade Davante he is not coming back , not sure what Rodgers cap situation is but damn the man does not want to be here ..

Yeah he doesn’t want to be here when he still played made bad decisions this game but tried. The deep ball was awful but we have no oline. Defense is awful same story for a decade and that’s it. If love is the answer trade Rodgers so he gets a ring and rebuild our defense cuz that’s been a problem that isn’t getting better. This team won’t beat Tampa or the niners so might as well maximize the rebuild before it’s too late. But even with love this isn’t getting better till the d and oline are fixed and Kevin king is complete garbage and can’t believe he makes 5 mill to be so awful.

Hats off to Sean Payton and DC Allen for having their teams as well-prepared and ready to execute as possible--after all they've been through lately. As for MLF, this isn't the first time the team hasn't seemed ready to play.

I give credit to others here who correctly pointed out that the OL may have some problems to start; I thought we'd be okay.

26-6, 28-8: Doesn't mean squat anymore, it's a new season.

Deguara: Can't seem to make it through a game, unfortunately.

Gute was/is delusional if he actually thinks, as he stated a few months ago, that we have the makings of a "dominant defense." The DL can't be pushed backwards or aside; NO sacks and ONE pass defended (by Stokes) ??? Holy crap!... Kevin King--I know it's early, but I'm thinking why even bother? Keep him on the sidelines.

ZDS non-sack: So is the NFL really worth watching, anyway? Nothing remotely illegal....It's called FOOTBALL, not PUSSBALL.

No need to wallow in the mire any further; they should be able to handle the Lions, shouldn't they?

I'm trying to remember the last time the Packers opened a season looking THAT FUCKING BAD. Are they done reading the press clippings? Are they done listening to the pundits? Time to put their heads down, turn off the TVs, get off their phones and GET TO WORK.

I was expecting some rust given the lack of pre-season game action but that was JV shit - by the players, by the coaching staff, everyone. Give the game ball to our punter, because that's about the only bright spot for today.

It's easy when things are going well. Now like LaFleur said, we'll find out what this team is really made of. It's time to put up, or shut up. And it starts Monday morning - EARLY.

The Saints offensive line simply beat the Packers front 6 consistently and thoroughly. The Packers secondary wasn't the problem.

The Saints defensive line whipped the Packers offensive line. Jenkins wasn't as good as Bakh, Patrick wasn't as good as LG Jenkins, Myers wasn't as good as Linsley, Newman (crap, didn't really notice him which ruins my narrative) and Turner not as good as Wagner.

Saints doubled Adams most of the day, and often shaded help towards MVS. Nothing doing vertically even if AR had time. Short stuff handled by the Saints excellent ILBs, Demario Davis and kwon Alexander.

It did seem as though the receivers couldn't get open against the Saints, and I'm wondering what happened.
Was there something intermediate between the short passes and long passes that could have been open with different play calling?
Could there have been more motion before the plays, more misdirection during the plays?
Did Rodgers start throwing the ball too deep too often too early, or was he frustrated by a lack of open receivers open on the shorter routes?
What adjustments could have been made at halftime?
I'm stumped as to how thoroughly our offense was stuffed.
I'm hoping for some good commentary this week from good fans such as you, TGR, to help detect what went wrong, and how it can get better.

That was just aweful...

I'm not sure HOW Royce Newman was named the starter but I saw several plays where his man went right through him.

So much for thinking those rookies on the O-Line would do just fine run blocking. Jesus, they couldn't block a bit today...PERIOD.

That was Jamis Winston throwing 5 TD's right? UGH!!!!

There wasn't one positive from that game, not one. I feel sorry for all those Packers fans who paid big money for a chance to see their team play and watched that...SHIT!

Good news... I don't see how it's possible to go anywhere but up.

Oh, hey Matt...PLEASE dust off a few new tricks you worked on all winter perhaps next Monday against Detroit because I saw NOTHING remotely creative or new today.

OMG...Could Barry POSSIBLY be worse than Mike Pettine or Dom Capers... Stay tuned Packers fans.

Lets bounce back Monday Night against the Lowly Lions who by the way showed more heart than that mega payroll team called the Packers.

Newman never was ready. He is not a Guard. Patrick was going to get cut. Turner was to far out. Myers never got dirty. The Lions will expose this OL too. Until Jenkins and Turner, end back up at guard. The MLF offense will fail. Because they lost Linsley. And Myers needs help.

They fielded the worst d in the league besides Alexander and Clark what does Green Bay have. That’s what I’d like to know at this point. Trading Rodgers makes sense now cuz the d isn’t getting and won’t get better. Love being a dilfer would work if they stacked the d and Rodgers playing on a team better then this would get him another ring. All around good for all involved but this team isn’t play off or super bowl material they lack linebackers and a d line. And the oline is awful now with an all star center and bakhtairi not playing. Jenkins is the only bright spot and why pay jones if you can’t block. The reality is we had an easy schedule the last two years and it’s not gonna be that way this year so either rebuild your d and oline or lose. Rodgers isn’t the problem but if all want to say he is fix your d with a trade and start love. Their are enough teams like the bucs where a qb gets them a ring so get what you need to be competitive before it’s too late.

DL isn't horrible, but they need better at DE. Clark is a beast. KeKe started coming on last season a bit. Not sure about Slaton, hopeful, but DL takes a while to come into their own. I like Heflin as a project.
Strong at OLB.
Jaire is great and hopefully Stokes comes into his own down the road, hard to tell who King is- is he the worst starting DB in the league like he looked in 2020, or is he the highest rated RZ defender in the league like he was in 2019? Either way, he's not being used correctly- he's a press man corner. They have to let him jam guys at the LOS.
Safety is a strong starting tandem with Amos and Savage.
ILB is clearly the achilles heel. It's just non-existent.

Rodgers is the most talented QB in the league, but he does create problems when he tries to be the hero and thinks he's better than the system. I agree, when Rodgers gets traded, hopefully you can build the D. This offense has the personnel and scheme to compete and win while a young QB develops within it.

QB1 shows no emotion, leadership. Body language says it all. On the Saints side Winston was talking to staff, looking at plays - Aaron, nothing. Like to hear some comments from changing the play & throwing the 2nd INT.

King - what a complete waste.

Entire D looked lost & confused.

Thought Joe Buck made a good point - those game changing penalties should be reviewed. That was a B.S. call for a sound football play.

Hope the Bears bomb tonight. - Go Pack

1) That was an utter embarrassment that resulted from a lack of minicamp/OTAs and preseason playtime from the offense, and a defense that has a new coach and somewhat of a new system, but had no real improvement in personnel - that also didn't play starters too much during the preseason.

2) Lack of commitment to the run game didn't make things any easier.

3) I fully expect this to be an anomaly on the offensive side of the ball. Rodgers needs to get his shit together and get the ball out on time. We've seen this before in this offense. It needs to be executed in rhythm. That did not happen with exception to the last drive of the first half, in which it appeared Rodgers was running his own plays from the LOS, but at least he was getting rid of the ball in time. Offensive Line play was not nearly as bad as the knee jerk commentary is making it out to be.

4) The defense? We'll see. They started the game looking good defending the run, but quickly fell apart. Same old bugaboo for this defense- great coverage early leads to a confused and disjointed attempt to re-focus on a QB who breaks out of the pocket an runs the ball. Everything fell apart after that.

5) This isn't an indicator of the season to be, so long as Rodgers reacts proactively as opposed to defensively to this shit show of an opener. Go pack.

Once again you blame Rodgers for the game and I get it he was awful but doesn’t change how bad the d and oline are as well. Either the packers trade him to make a real defense or just another wasted season. Love with a d could be that but this team won’t stand a chance at Tampa and San Fran if they field the same piss poor oline and defense. Rodgers will get better but you can’t change the flaws this team has and it’s obvious now. Saints brought 4 all night and still got pressure. And the Green Bay defense still gives up fourth down as always. They also made Winston look like a hall of famer without running the ball and Michael Thomas. Your points are correct but the front office needs to do something now before they have no options left and no future of fielding a collective team.

You seem to miss something here- I blame Rodgers for what he's responsible for, and that's on the offensive side of the ball.

The Defense was atrocious. So was the Offense.

On offense, the OL wasn't as bad as many are claiming IMO. Rodgers needs to get the ball out of his hands on time. That's his job. After 2.5-3 seconds, it's not a failure of the OL if the pocket starts to collapse. Passing plays are supposed to be complete by that point.

Staying balanced on offense, also part of Rodgers' job, since most plays are RPOs or have built in checks to run.

Rodgers WILL be traded after this year, it is impossible to sustain his salary and field a winning team, especially after the cap reduction.

He’s not under contract after this year pretty much and can control what happens. He will be traded but would be wise to do it sooner with his value then wait. If love is the future then now would be better then latter to fix the d and all the holes on this team. It’s week one but this is talent and the packers lack it. And he was awful today but the line was just as bad doesn’t mean him doing what he did justifies it but he’s not the entire problem right now. As for the defense it’s the same story every year a couple star players on D and the rest are garbage. And maybe the 3-4 is the problem with the talent on the d but it’s getting old watching the same crappy d every year play. It’s one game but I don’t see the d getting better. And new coordinator bragged about is worse than Capers which I never thought could happen. Your points to an extent are correct but I still think this is beyond Rodgers. He was awful but he doesn’t play defense either or block. Packers had an easy schedule 2 years straight and when they play a good d they always get blown out. This team has a lot of holes and maybe when Rodgers is gone i they can fix them with his cap space back and value in trade. I just think this isn’t anomaly and could be a long season.

WOW. Theres a smell emanating from Jacksonville that smells like the New Jersey turnpike in august. Somewhere between rotting eggs, a dead body, and burnt dog hair. Rodgers looked like a guy that hasn't touched a ball in a year, wide outs couldn't get separation if they'd been carrying crow bars, o line looked slow with the exception of Jenkins(you want to throw somebody money next year, hes the guy), running backs were just that, running into the backs of the o line. Defense played soft, Kevin king hasn't gotten better giving his 10 yard cushions, the only good thing that happened was nullified by a poor penalty call. Coaches outreached, team out played. This sucked. Been a fan since sixty four, but the way we played today wasnt as good as the teams of the 70s and 80s. Nuff said. GOPACKGO!

No reason to panic at this point, but this game was eerily reminiscent of the 1980's Packers. The team then often looked lost and was beaten in every aspect of the game.
Matt LaFleur has much for which he needs to be held accountable. The first decision is to not play the starters at all in pre-season. This was their pre-season game and they looked like it. I've been carping on this for a month and Troy Aikman basically made the same point. Four starters on the offensive line are either in positions they haven't played in awhile while others are rookies. All the more reason to have them play in the pre-season.
When the pass game wasn't going, MLF, like Mike McCarthy, simply stopped running the football. They just paid Jones a lot of money to run the ball and he was on the sidelines most of the day. That's on MLF.

I have had misgivings about the Joe Barry hire. This defense looked bewildered all day. That is on Barry. He came to Green Bay with a lousy history, but apparently perfomance means little, all you have to be is a friend of Matt's. Again, one game, but this defense looked too much like the lousy Packer defenses in the 80's.

I haven't seen play calling this bad in three decades. And what is it with going on fourth down in your own territory? High school teams know better than that. That's on MLF. I'm also wondering if Rodgers was changing the plays at the line. Something really stunk.

The Saints were ready on both sides of the ball and I'm impressed with their coaching and strength along both offensive and defensive lines.

One more point: there are folks who think that you need #1 picks to be great receivers. The Saints played with UFA's at the receiver position today. Didn't stop them an ounce.

Again, I'm not making conclusions on things until we see a couple more games.

I'm glad I didn't buy tickets or plane fare for the Super Bowl

They had the game salted away before they really used them, too. The Saints only had two plays from scrimmage of more than 15 yards the entire game...one of the two went for 17. The Saints won by grinding out drives with their OL and by forcing stops with their defense. TWO 15-play drives in one half? OMG!!!

There were 6 total possessions in the first half. Just 6. Saints had 3 possessions in the first half and scored 17 points. The Packers had 3 and scored...3.

Is Rodgers willing to play more like Winston if it helps the Packers to win?
I think Winston had less than 100 yards passing through three quarters; and even after his long touchdown throw, less than 150 for the game.
I really don't know the answer about Rodgers.
My concern, however, is whether or not Rodgers is willing to take the short and unspectacular plays if that's the best way to win?

Know it’s easy to say this is an overreaction for one game but I felt this every day after June 1…

Rodgers had lots of time and failed to deliver the ball on numerous downs.

I refuse to go down the "WRs weren't open" path again during another season. Every other QB in the league throws to WRs who have similar coverage on them. On Rodgers' big drive to end the first half, he was throwing the ball to WRs just as covered as they were during the rest of the game. The difference? He was throwing to them on time, as they entered their breaks, without hesitation.

Cuz he’s the problem didn’t you know even though the d is awful and the oline. Packer land think love is the next Rodgers so we can’t say it’s the awful d or the offensive line that can’t block. We paid jones and what’s point with that line they block nothing. If Rodgers is the problem trade him remake your holes and start love but we don’t see that from the front office which speaks volumes of what Love must be at qb. Makes no sense to any logical fan. If he’s the next qb what are they waiting for switch and get something out of it.

That is the whole point you are missing Shinesman! An NFL team cannot have so much cap money tied up into one player. If you do the surrounding cast is weak. The Packers need to trade Rodgers and Adam's for better linemen, and IL. They do and the Packers will be a stronger team.

I hope people are starting to notice Love and his play. I think he has the talent and composure to be a very good QB. Just surround him with very good OL, and a running game.

best thing i saw today was this comment board....i dont want to hear about the line, the core issues on o, ar needs to play better mentaly and phyiscaly, play calling....once againabandoned the run, whats with the spread offense? someone had alot of faith in this ol to keep doing it. we keep calling for run stuffers yet our edge refuses to contain when bounced outside . ar looks old, give credit to no coaching staff......winston made plays with his arm but his decision making and legs were daggers...

Kenny Clark and Jaire Alexander then the rest of the defense basically sucks, kept hearing MLF wanted the defense to fly to the ball on defense how did that work out. Lancaster and the other stiff tackle name escapes me just are not NFL players. Gary soon he is going to dominate been hearing that for 3 years not a great pick. Tell mister King I hope he saved some of that contract as his time is nearing an end the light has not gone on totally lost. New DC looked overmatched 8-9 if this continues AR going to get his wish never had sack of Favre (tons of interceptions) but never die mentality. Long season coming all you brat pounders makes for long winter as well.

Aaron: I could not have said it any clearer. Yes, it’s only one game, but something tells me that this is the start of an awful season. I’m a firm believer in karma and with all the BS during the off-season it just feels like we’re in for a horrible year. The defense had no gap control. Starting the two rookies on the OL will definitely cause problems all year. The first pick by Mr. Diva was because of the whiff block by Newsome on Jordan. There is nothing positive about this game, just another clunker from a coaching staff that is not capable of being prepared to play on the road, I,e., both 49er games in 2019 and charger game in 2019, not good.

i think this team needs a leader. they dont have a reggie white or a charles woodson. they have guys who are more passive and less vocal. im not sure this team holds each other accountable the way a true championship team should. im only an outside guy looking in, but does a true leader stand out to you? laflueur is a great mind i believe, and i think he is also a great manager of people and egos. but he is not the kind of coach who is going to give a great half time speech and hold these guys accountable. with that being said, they are grown men, and they should be holding each other accountable. but since it looks like from the outside they are not, then lafluer or somebody else has to do it, or at least inspire one of the players to be better at it. because these guys today looked like a bunch of jags working on the railroad. no emotion, just punching a clock.

"Where was all the motion? The jet sweep action?" But Aaron, then our QB couldn't take the play-clock down to zero in order to make a useless audible. Seriously, anytime the game plan looks stale, blame Rodgers, not the HC/OC. Rodgers wants max control, which means minimum play design. Same was true under McCarthy as well.

First, stop blaming Rodgers. He had zero protection. He had receivers who couldnt get any separation. Hell, Adams even quit early on a couple routes.

Second, this is what happens when you dont play your starters in preseason, period. End of discussion.

Third, the Saints were missing so many player from last year and they looked like Superbowl contenders against our un prepaired team.

Fourth, this team was, yet again, completely mentally unprepaired.

Fifth, people mocked the thought of getting real talent at WR. Guess it wasn't so stupid was it.

Sixth, everyone on God's green earth has been saying we need a real DL aside from Clark, and real MLBs. I guess the FO still wont see a reason to invest.

Seventh, what an aweful gameplan. Almost zero running or PA passing. Just terrible.

Eighth, Joe Barry. Wow. This defense somehow looks worst its ever been in the last 10 years.

Ninth, for anyone who has the gall to make comments to people like... "iF yOu tHiNk YoU CoULd Do BeTTEr AS GM, wHy dOnT You ApPLy?....." Well, the packers clearly just hire old buddies. Thats how most of the office and coaches are still employed. Also, I think most fans have proven they could make better positions.

Our Oline is a mess ....We are playing two guards as tackles and two newbies on the line..The patch work only works when there are experienced guys in oline around where we have only 2 . Agreed Arod played poorly too but half of the blame goes to Oline and rest half between lafluer and Rodgers

I'm not going to panic, yet, but flush it and move on. I agree with Nags- where was all the creative offense? No misdirection or jet sweep stuff? This reminded me of the McCarthy years offense where empty backfield, throwing the ball 15-20 yards or more downfield, when the OL was being pushed back and no time to throw, but few screen passes, nothing to get the ball into playmakers hands. Maybe the receivers where not getting open ,but dang all long ball stuff again. We gave up on the run way too early, and I would have ran Dillion more, he seemed to be gaining some yardage. All big offense again but no just move the chains offense at all. On the defensive side, same issues as last year- can't get off the field on 3rd down. Lack of communication and man handled. Very disappointed loss for sure. This was a team loss- got out played , out coached, and out about everything else in between. Well, our place-kicking operation looked good and Mason was smooth, so we have that going for us.

nagler was spot on about a couple of things. first, this team definitely just thought they could walk in here and win. the problem was, the saints were playing for new orleans, a city thats been thru the ringer. they used that to drive them, they used the hurricane and being displaced to bring them together and play with heart and passion. the packers D looked similiar to last years defense. the difference being that aaron rodgers was not aaron rodgers. and where was the presnap motion? where were the rub routes? and pick plays? this literally looked like 12 threw out the playbook and just started playing backyard ball. it was a joke. i was watching the end of the lions game, and they got the doors blown off of them obviously. but they came back from a 30 something point deficit, and almost pulled it off at the end to at least try and tie the game. this packers team today never for a second seemed like they could come back from even a 21 to 3 deficit. literally from when rodgers threw that first pick 6 minutes into the 3rd it felt over. and thats probably the worst part. this game felt over with with 2 quarters left. not because of the deficit. but because of the lack of fucks to give by this team of guys who looked like they are just working 9 to 5 driving forklifts waiting to clock out and go home.

I’m not even sure what to think of this. I guess if I could sum it up with a few sentences. I’d say the defense is the same just a different coach and the offense looked like 3rd string in preseason against 1st team defense. I think top down, sitting starters all preseason was a mistake, Rodgers in Hawaii half retired, and coaches looking like they were faking their way through it, left EVERYONE embarrassed. Super Bowl or bust? How about first down or bust. Perhaps tackle somebody or bust? Rodgers trade value after game one? A 7th round pick and a practice squad player. Sorry. This was bad.

"LIKE I SAID", 2nd preseason game all starters should be playing a few series. 3rd game starters should be playing a quarter if they are sharp and like this...the whole damn game. I heard "THIS IS THE HUNGRIEST PLAYERS IVE PLAYED WITH" well get out of the chow line at the buffet, so you can play.....a little. I usually get really pissed watching us implode. Somehow it was almost laughable, like you can't make this keystone cops theatre up. I was wrong though. We don't need a DL and a CB starter. We need 2-DL starters and a CB starter. Game plan was crap. Offense was bad. poor separation on a supposedly schemed open offense. Williams played real well....for Detroit. They played like they wanted it.

All of the people insisting Rodgers didn't have a chance because he had no time to throw:

I watched Rodgers' post game press conference. He was asked by a reporter about the protection.
Rodger's response was that he thought the protection was fine, he thought the OL did a good job out there. Said there was one sack HE gave up on a keeper play, but other than that, the OL did their job.

If this poor performance continues, the only conclusion is that QB12's heart isn't into it (maybe same for 17). Focused on drama and where he goes next, not football. Maybe the Zen master will force his trade and that of Adams BEFORE the trade deadline. Something is rotten in Denmark.

The defense played soft, the offensive game plan sucked. Sure felt like a trip back in time to the MM and Dom show. But it also felt like the SF games where MLF's team was unprepared in every way against a better coach. It is hard to argue against a guy who has posted two straight 13 win seasons but games like this sure indicate he has some real limitations.

Rogers maybe wrinkled re Mr Brady but that is only because Rogers hasn't had the work on his face and the Botox shots. Rogers efforts are going into his hair styles, dyes and self promotion / team destruction. Whilst talking about Rogers he seems very engaged on the sidelines with Adams & MVS but not so much with coaching staff or rest of team.
Adams is looking his age ie another big multi year contract will be a bust. The offence is full of new kids and people who spent the whole off season not participating beyond beyond offering free criticism of the Packers on social media . The DC looked like a bloke who has tried and failed previously but thinks if you carry on down the sideline then the players will make up for what they haven't been taught. Special teams have improved and. the new punter had a blast. If ZEE doesn't want to be at the Packers then he can give some money back and piss off along with any one else who feels the same way ( Rogers, Adams, E St Brown, MVS, Lazard )
As for our Head Coach; he was either horribly ill prepared / has doubts about Cobb / hates the run game / Can't control Rogers.
Coach: Use it or lose it or sack it .
If we want to be certain to play the post season at home then 2 more losses is our fill.
