Mike Pettine's crew never stood a chance.

Totally ugly. I was confounded by the lack of defensive adjustment. I expected more from Montravious Adans, Lowry and Montgomery this last season. This game did not play to the Smith’s skill set. Back to the drawing board.

This is scary how well-schemed the 49ers were.

To me, what's scary is the Packers simply couldn't/wouldn't do anything to adjust.

Also scary that Pettine is staying as DC.

Al - we see the results. What is your opinion on how to fix this?

My feeling is we have to shore up the defensive line as much as the ILB position. Most teams have 6 defensive linemen that can rotate in and be effective. The Packers carried 5 and Adams was a disappointment and they obviously felt Keke wasn't ready. The 49ers' DL is what makes that defense so good. Sure, they have all those first-rounders, but GB has to find a way to up the level of play on the DL.

Very True. Now let me ask this. How can we draft a ILB when so many have failed? Especially Late. Morrison, Goodson and Burks looked lost. Summers had his troubles. If the veterans can't handle this defensive scheme. How can we expect a Rookie to grab it. Hasn't it become to much a problem. CM3 moved around. Ryan got out of here. And Now it looks like Martinez and Fackrell will leave. It seems to much is put on the safety too. Do you feel it's the wrong scheme now?

Morrison and Goodson were not drafted. They were one-dimensional cast-offs from other teams. Burks has been a failed draft pick to this point. I don't think it's necessarily because of scheme. Martinez had no issue with it, of course he's from Stanford so...

Explains Everything! The bear with No claws? They should have switched to the 4-3-4. Moving players around just hasn't worked. When will they Learn!

Scary and tough video to watch for Packer fans. Amazing how out of position Darnel Savage was all day. Packers took the blocks, took the hits, but seems like little effort tho shed blocks. No intensity. Great analysis! And Mike Pettine was retained?? I was screaming for the old 4-3 of Lombardi era! Looking forward to more improvement for 2020!

Couple years ago read an art. by a well known football analyst. He was asked why pack didn't go to a 4-3-4 defense. He replied it costs too much. You need top defensive ends and they command big money. Ted T won't pay for them. 3-4-3 is a lot cheaper.

Loved that the team made strides this year and won 13 games. But getting absolutely run over in an NFC championship game for close to 300 yards is devastating. What an embarrassment, and in front of millions of viewers. That looked like men playing against boys.
I wouldn't have minded had Pettine been released. His squad was not prepared, no motivation or fight, no adjustments. Completely out coached.

Well, the Pack needs to go back to the 4-3!!!
Add an extra NT and move P. Smith to end.
Now, you have a GREAT front front 5
K. Clark, P. Smith, Z. Smith and new NT
