Packers sign new kicker, Lenny Krieg
The move sets up a three-man kicking competition

The Green Bay Packers have added another leg to the mix just ahead of training camp.
After a successful tryout on Monday, the Packers are signing kicker Lenny Krieg, according to a report from Bill Huber. The move comes just one day before Green Bay's first training camp practice and officially sets up a three-way competition for the kicking job.
Krieg arrives in Green Bay after taking an unconventional path to the NFL. A native of Germany, he built his career overseas with the Berlin Adler of the German Football League and the Stuttgart Surge of the European League of Football before earning an opportunity with the Atlanta Falcons through the NFL's International Player Pathway program.
He will join rookie Trey Smack, the Packers' sixth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and Lucas Havrisik, who appeared in several games for Green Bay last season after veteran Brandon McManus was sidelined by injury.
Smack entered the offseason as the favorite thanks to the organization's investment in him on draft weekend, but the addition of Krieg makes it clear the Packers intend to create as much competition as possible.
With training camp officially getting underway Wednesday, all eyes will be on who can make the most of their opportunities.

Seems more like a tryout to see if they can find a way to keep a kicker on the PS through the season without tying up a normal roster spot. It probably suggests that we won’t keep both of the other kickers. Whoever wins will be on the roster (unless we poach one we like better). It’s possible they don’t wait that long either, and it’s just Krieg and Smack. Personally, I hope that’s not the case till Smack proves he’s better on at least the practice field.
