#PackersDaily: Let your guys compete, Joe.

The Green Bay Packers defense has what it needs to at least be competitive. Joe Barry needs to let them do so the last three games of the 2023 season.

Am I the only one in disbelief at MLFs Monday press conference?
Excellent way to lose the team Matt. No accountability, lies, deceitful little stammering answers.
Gutekunst, wake up! This staff is toast!

He lost his credibility, threw his players under the bus and made a fool of himself in one statement today. Shameful.

MLF said he's sticking by Barry because he's seen him get it done at times. To which I say, even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while. Talk about the blind leading the blind.

Hopefully.

It'd be easier to replace DC and a few other positions than it would be to gut the entire coaching staff. I don't see MM going along with that idea. There's also the idea that a more gradual change would get better results.

Unfortunately, I think you're right.
Murphy won't fire MLF, it would be admitting he was wrong, and he'll never do that.
The Organization needs to start at the top and find a new CEO that's interested in Football.

I'd like to think that LaGoof would be just as accountable as Dingle Barry? But this is such a mismanaged organization so who really knows?

Accountability should start at the top with the Mighty Murphy. But I've come to realize that a corporate structure running a pro team is horribly wrong! A lazy president running a team with 40 directors - who are mostly businessmen vs football people - is just crazy. MM was supposedly a player back in the day? Now he's just another corporate suit hungry for control, just waiting out his long, anticipated retirement.

So, good luck with LaGoof and getting him out of his job. I can't wait for the Jul 2025 retirement party for the Mighty Murphy!

Am I the only one who remembers JB said he'd be more aggressive? At the end of last season he asked all his players what they wanted and they all said they wanted to play more aggressively. We all said we'll see how long that lasts but expected him to withdraw back into his shell.

Has GB lost one game due to the D playing too aggressively?

Players were excited to be given the chance to play more aggressively. Why limit that to the last three games?

I can't remember a press conference when I walked away so pissed off.
He literally threw the players under the bus, told the world that they couldn't figure out the calls and/or properly communicate them.
I'm not a Gutey fan, but he should be pissed too, and rightfully so. He stacks the defensive deck with 1st round picks, 7 or 8, along with a number of free agents, and in so many words MLF calls them stupid. He looked like the overrated, under-qualified adolescent that he is. He's NOT Head Coach material, he can't get it up!
He's proven multiple times that his buddy Barry is more important to him than the Green Bay Packers organization, and now his players.
Fine, Matt, you created this mess, you and Barry can ride the same bus out of town. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. It's a huge privilege to coach the Green Bay Packers, and you fucked it up!
He and his entire staff should be fired immediately following the final game of the season, no mater how they finish.

Good work, LaGoof! You threw 53 players under the bus but couldn't take aim at your good buddy Dingle Barry! Wow! Mind boggling news conference!

Of course players are going to make mistakes. It happens every game even to the best players of the best teams. But HOW do u excuse safeties playing in the next state? That's NOT the players. That's an alignment scheme from Dingle Barry. And you can defend that? You choose friendship over the team?

I guess its fitting that LaGoof should add his enormous defensive expertise to help Dingle Barry? This should be interesting. If we get "shredded" against Carolina, wouldn't that be just so fitting?

So, for the rest of this "evaluation season", it seems that ONLY the players are to be evaluated- not the elitist coaches? LaGoof just lost a lot of respect of fans and the NFL world in that press conference. I can't even imagine what the players are thinking?

But have no fear - the dynamic duo rides again! Hopefully, into the sunset after 3 more games!

I took it to mean that MLF wasn’t necessarily so down on JB’s calls as he was that stuff was never taught/practiced properly in the first place. I mean, we all hate so see the DB’s so far off but once the play begins it sounds like guys are making tons of mistakes. It’s not like GB should NEVER play zone; it’s just that no zone defense should have the immense holes that GB has shown.
