Bears Fine TE Brandon Manumaleuna $22K

Chicago Bears tight end Brandon Manumaleuna has been fined $22,000 by the team for failing to attend mandatory team meetings last Saturday, reports Jeff Dickerson of ESPNChicago.com.

Manumaleuna, who signed a five-year contract with $15 million with the Bears on March 5, thought the pre-game meetings took place the day of the game, which was the case during the pre-season.

The maximum allowable fine for missing a mandatory team meeting is around $11,000. Manumaleuna received just over $5 million in up-front guarantees from the Bears, and his weekly gamechecks this season are worth over $62,000.
