Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune reports the Chicago Bears have informed defensive end Jarron Gilbert that he will be placed on waivers.

Chosen with the 68th overall pick of the 2009 NFL Draft, Gilbert (6-5, 287) appeared in four games last season, totaling one tackle.

Gilbert had three tackles, including a pair of quarterback sacks, and a forced fumble this pre-season, but it was not enough for him to earn a spot on the Bears' initial 53-man roster.
