Bears Release QB Mike TEel

Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports the Chicago Bears have released quarterback Mike Teel, using that roster spot to sign wide receiver Zeke Markshausen.

Markshausen is a 5-11, 185-pound wide receiver from Northwestern, who caught 92 passes for 864 yards and 3 touchdowns during his college career. All but one catch and six yards came during the 2009 season.

Teel signed a two-year deal with the Bears late last month, his third organization this off-season after being waived by the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots. Teel was a sixth-round pick out of Rutgers by the Seahawks in 2009.
