Buccaneers Sign DB Vince Anderson

Adam Caplan of FOXSports.com reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed free agent defensive back Vince Anderson.

Anderson entered the NFL with the New York Giants, who signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Webber International in 2009. Anderson (6-1, 205) totaled 10 tackles during the pre-season before being waived at the end of training camp.

After spending much of his rookie season on the Giants' practice squad, Anderson signed a "Reserve/Futures" contract in January. The Giants released Anderson on June 21, after they had completed their off-season workout program.

Caplan notes that the Giants had interest in bringing Anderson back.

In Tampa, Anderson will likely play free safety, but has the size and length that Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris likes in his cornerbacks.
