Dolphins LB Channing Crowder Returns to Practice

Miami Dolphins inside linebacker Channing Crowder returned to practice on Saturday, reports Omar Kelly of the Sun-Sentinel.

Crowder, who has been sidelined since August with a groin injury, flew to Philadelphia on Friday morning to meet with Dr. William Meyers, a noted sports hernia specialist. Meyers has operated on countless professional athletes, including several members of the New Orleans Saints over the last two years.

Crowder's status for Sunday's game won't officially be known until later on Sunday. If he does miss a fourth consecutive game, Tim Dobbins will start at inside linebacker next to Karlos Dansby, with Bobby Carpenter playing in the team's nickel packages.
