Dwayne Jarrett Off to Rough Start at Panthers Camp

According to the tweets from Darin Gantt of the Charlotte Observer, Carolina Panthers wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett's 2010 training camp is off to a rough start.

"WR Dwayne Jarrett runs wrong route, looks confused as ball flies away. Not a good first-day impression", Gantt posted at 10:13am ET before adding, "Now Dwayne's limping around like he's got a hammy. Great first day Jarrett, really nice."

A former second-round pick out of USC, Jarrett enters the final year of his rookie contract with just 33 receptions for 388 yards and one touchdown in 29 career games. With Mushin Muhammed retiring this off-season, the 6-4, 219-pound Jarrett has his best opportunity yet of earning a starting job opposite Steve Smith.

If Jarrett struggles this summer, 2010 third-round picks Brandon LaFell and Armanti Edwards could pass him on the depth chart.
