Former Chicago Bears tight end Gabe Reid was awarded $325,000 in workers' compensation in the state of Illinois, Fred Mitchell of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Former Chicago Bears tight end Gabe Reid was awarded $325,000 in workers' compensation in the state of Illinois, Fred Mitchell of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Reid, 33, caught 7 passes for 57 yards and made eight special teams during his 30-game career with the Bears from 2003-06. Reid missed the entire 2004 season with a knee injury.

Free agent safety Mike Brown, who played for the Bears from 2000-08, received $140,000 in workers' compensation. Brown missed most of the 2004, 2006, and 2007 seasons with leg and foot injuries.

Brown, 32, posted 103 tackles and 3 interceptions for the Kansas City Chiefs last season.
