New York Giants third-round safety Chad Jones has been injured in a car crash Thursday night in New Orleans, WAFB in New Orleans reports.

"Just got news about Chad Jones' car accident," LSU head coach Les Miles said in a statement released by Jones' alma mater. "We are praying for Chad and his family. Keep him in your prayers."

A New Orleans radio station is reporting that Jones' father said his son was in "serious condition".

Giants' spokesman Pat Hanlon posted the following mesage on Twitter. "We have seen and heard reports on Chad Jones...in process of gathering information now..."
