The Carolina Panthers have placed quarterback Matt Moore and linebacker Dan Connor on injured reserve, Darin Gantt of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Moore injured his right shoulder during Sunday's 34-3 loss to the New Orleans Saints, and was scheduled to undergo an MRI this morning. Connor aggravated his hip during the second quarter.
A restricted free agent tendered at the "First- and Third-Round" this off-season, Moore was making his fifth start of the season for the now 1-7 Panthers. Moore has completed 55.2% of his 143 pass attempts this season for 857 yards, 5 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
Moore has been sacked 13 times and has a 55.6 passer rating.
With Moore out, 2010 second-round pick Jimmy Clausen is expected to be the Panthers' starter for the remainder of the season.
For Connor, this will be the second time in three NFL seasons that will finish on injured reserve. The third-round pick (74th overall) out of Penn State has 81 tackles in 27 career games, including a career-high 47, and his first NFL sack, this season.
