Raiders LB Kirk Morrison Signs RFA Tender

Oakland Raiders restricted free agent linebacker Kirk Morrison has announced that he has signed his one-year tender.
"Just walked into the facility and signed my tender with the Raiders. I'm excited to see what the 2010 season holds", Morrison announced on Twitter.
A third-round pick (78th overall) out of San Diego State by the Raiders in the 2005 NFL Draft, the lack of a collective bargaining agreement kept Morrison from being eligible for unrestricted free agency. Morrison was tendered at the "Original Round" level, which carried third-round draft choice compensation had Morrison signed an offer sheet with another club.
Because he earned $2.295 million dollars in base salary last season, Morrison's restricted free agent tender carries a $2.524 million dollar base salary in 2010.
Morrison has stared 79 of his 80 games with the Raiders, totaling 631 tackles, including 41 for a loss, 5 quarterbacks, 7 interceptions, 17 passes defensed and six forced fumbles. Morrison has led the Raiders in tackles in each of the last four seasons, and was elected a defensive captain in 2008.
With Morrison signed, linebacker Thomas Howard and cornerback Stanford Routt are the two remaining Raiders restricted free agents who have not signed their one-year tenders.
