Ravens NT Terrence Cody Fails Conditioning Test

Baltimore Ravens rookies, quarterbacks, and select veterans hit the practice field for the first time on Tuesday, but second-round nose tackle Terrence Cody was not among them.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said afterward that Cody had failed his conditioning test, Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun reports.

Cody, who tipped the scales at over 370 pounds at the Senior Bowl, had cut his weight by over 20 pounds by the 2010 Scouting Combine in February, and maintained that weight at his Pro Day in March.

Weight and conditioning are likely going to be an issue for Cody going forward, but as long as he can occupy blockers and be a disruptive presence in the middle of the defensive line, they'll clear him to practice when it counts.
