Ravens Sign CB Travis Fisher

The Baltimore Ravens announced the signing of veteran cornerback Travis Fisher.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

A second-round pick (64th overall) out of Central Florida by the St. Louis Rams in 2002, Fisher has started 74 of 90 career games in the NFL, totaling 341 tackles, 9 interceptions, and 32 passes defensed.

Fisher (5-10, 189) spent his first five seasons with the Rams before signing a one-year deal with the Detroit Lions in 2007. Fisher started the final 11 games of the 2007 season for the Lions, finishing the season with 78 tackles and a pair of interceptions, earning a three-year, $9 million dollar contract extension that off-season.

Like most of the Lions, Fisher struggled during the Lions' 0-16 season and was subsequently released. Fisher signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks last summer, and made 5 tackles in four games before he was released on November 3.

The 30-year old cornerback tried out for the Ravens during last weekend's mini-camp.

The Ravens also announced the signing of undrafted safety Brad Jones (University of Cincinnati).
