The Washington Redskins have signed free agent defensive back Macho Harris, reports Rich Campbell of The Free Lance-Star.

Harris fills the roster spot vacated when rookie safety Russell Anderson was placed on injured reserve.

A fifth-round pick (157th overall) out of Virginia Tech by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009, Harris started 8 of 15 games at free safety as a rookie, totaling 41 tackles and a pair of passes defensed.

The Eagles released Harris on September 4.
