Seahawks Reach Deal With G Ben Hamilton

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Seattle Seahawks have reached agreement with free agent guard Ben Hamilton.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

A fourth-round pick (113th overall) out of the University of Minnesota by the Denver Broncos in 2001, the 6-5, 290-pound Hamilton has started 104 of his 111 career games in his nine-year NFL career, all of which has been spent with the Broncos.

Hamilton began his career working at left guard in a blocking scheme utilized by current Seahawks offensive line coach Alex Gibbs, who was Hamilton's position coach from 2001-03. Hamilton, who turns 33 in August, missed the entire 2007 season with a concussion, but rebounded to start 16 games in 2008, and 8 of his 15 games last season.

With the Broncos shifting to a more power-blocking system, Denver did not make an attempt to re-sign Hamilton when his contract expired.
