Skelton to Remain Cardinals Starter

Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt will stick with rookie John Skelton as the starting quarterback, ESPN's Mike Sando reports.
The only reasonable alternative to Skelton for the Cardinals at this point is Derek Anderson, who was concussed in a Week 13 loss to the St. Louis Rams. Anderson did not clear his baseline concussion tests prior to the Denver game, forcing Skelton into his first NFL start.
Arizona placed rookie quarterback Max Hall on injured reserve last week, and signed quarterback Richard Bartel to add an arm to the roster.
A fifth-round pick out of Fordham, Skelton completed just 15-of-37 pass attempts for 146 yards, resulting in a 52.3 passer rating, but didn't turn the ball over as the Cardinals beat the Denver Broncos 43-13 to snap a seven-game losing streak.
The Cardinals travel to the 1-12 Carolina Panthers next Sunday.
