Steelers Reach 3-Year Extension With Mike Tomlin

Coach now under contract through the 2014 season.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have come to agreement on a three-year contract agreement with head coach Mike Tomlin, reports Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Tomlin had two years remaining on a five-year, $12.5 million dollar contract he signed with the Steelers in 2007 to replace longtime head coach Bill Cowher, who resigned following the 2006 season.

In his first three seasons in Pittsburgh, Tomlin has a 31-17 regular season record, and is 3-1 during the post-season, including coaching the Steelers to their sixth Lombardi Trophy in 2008, his second season on the job.

According to Bouchette, financial terms of the three-year extension were not disclosed. Tomlin is now under contract with the Steelers through the 2014 season.
