9.5 wins seems low-end to me. I'm thinking more like 11. He talks a lot about Matt LaFleur not going for it enough on 4th down last year and making bad play calls when he did go for it. I don't remember that being a big issue in any of the losses. The only one I remember is the home game agains the Lions, when the Packers kicked a field goal on their first drive. They could've gone for it, but I remember that being more like a 50-50 decision rather than an obvious gaffe.

The Packers were 50% on 4th downs with 16 attempts while their opponents were 60% on 30 attempts. So you could say LaFleur was more conservative than the coaches he faced. Given the kicking situation before McManus arrived that's a bit surprising.

I would need to see a more detailed breakdown to make a judgment on that. There are a lot of factors that affect attempts. Maybe the Packers had fewer 4th and short situations than their opponents. They also played with a lot of leads, which affects the decision making in those situations.

Excellent, high energy interview. Warren was right about Jordan playing through serious injury. Love under-rated
and being blamed for WR error (33% responsible) and MLF questionable 4th down play-calls.
Refreshing to listen to an objective, knowledgeable guest.

The Packers have been terrible at 4th & 1 not just for the past few years, but for much longer than that.
How about doing a comparison of the Packers to the rest of the league over the last 10 years?
I think this has been a problem for a long time.
Let's see some stats on that.
What I hate is when they hand off to a tailback, way behind the line of scrimmage.
It takes too long for the back to get to the line of scrimmage.
The defense has so many guys near the line that the odds are someone is bound to get penetration.
If you're going to run, use formations with the back close to the line of scrimmage.
Give the back a better chance by getting him to the line of scrimmage quickly.
No tailback!
If you're not doing a QB sneak, if you're using another back, make it a short, quick handoff.
The Eagles have the Tush Push.
The Packers have the Tail Fail.

If Warren Sharp is right,
we should change Go, Pack, Go
to
Go (for it on 4th down), Pack, Go (for it on 4th down)!
