The New York Jets have signed cornerback Isaiah Trufant off their practice squad, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.
Trufant, whose older brother Marcus plays for the Seattle Seahawks, joined the Jets' practice squad in early December after spending the previous two years with the Las Vegas Locos of the United Football League.
Trufant was named the UFL's Defensive Player of the Year for 2010 after posting 30 tackles, 1 quarterback sack, and 4 interceptions.
Prior to his stint in the UFL, the former Eastern Washington University standout played for the Spokane Shock, Kansas City Brigade, and Arizona Rattlers in arena football leagues.
Defensive lineman Matt Kroul has been signed to the practice squad after clearing waivers earlier this week.
