Packers Question of the day - Expectations for Sunday

For just the third time in his career, Aaron Rodgers is set to face off against the visiting Houston Texans, but with limited mobility due to an injured hamstring suffered in Monday night's win against the Eagles.

The Packers are 5-6, still in the thick of the playoff race and after a Vikings loss last night, they're more alive now than ever.

In their last meeting with the Texans, the Packers won 42-24 behind Rodgers' six touchdown passes, tying a career best in a single game. What are your expectations this time around?

I expect the offense to do their job just fine. I expect the ST to be positively quiet at a minimum.I expect the front 7 to get some pressure and Dom to be aggressive because if not Fuller and Hopkins will kill the beat up secondary. I expect them to play with a lead as a way to neutralize Lamar Miller because if he gets going early and in a close game it's only a matter of time before they hit a big play over the top due to the safeties forced into the box and the young corners peaking as a result of Miller's production. Pretty high expectations that may need to be tempered a bit...27-20 PAck

I expect Houston to play man and make our receivers prove they can get separation and make Rodgers scramble from the snap to test his hamstring. Clowney will be drooling.

Last week the secondary was bailed out because they played Philly's 2nd string WRs. This week they may be bailed out by theTexans' horrible QB. If AR can put together a good game despite the injury, they can win assuming, however, that MM doesn't revert to his bomb happy offense or decide to target R. Rodgers 45 times.

I kinda expect a similar game to the Eagles. Move the chains and not much from Osweiler to get too worried about. I'm never surprised by a loss anymore but as long as Rodgers stays upright I can't see them losing to Houston and their ineffective QB.

I fully expect the Packers to win. However, if they cannot beat Brock Osweller and the Texans this Sunday at Lambeau, the entire coaching staff should be fired immediately after the game. (Of course that won't happen. But, my god, if they can't beat this team at Lambeau...)

I'd expect a Packers team to show up who looks like they want to be there, are fired up to be there, and to to treat the fans at Lambeau to a good ole fashioned butt kicking of the Texans.
I'd expect McCarthy to actually USE Montgomery and Michael on Offense and get this team playing like we thought they'd play like the whole season. If not I'd really wonder what IS McCarthy waiting for??

I agree: the Packers will pay greater attention to trying to run the ball this week than they did last week. I expect that, if the Packers lose, this group will be really unhappy with the run/pass play call ratio on Monday, but that's how you need to attack Houston.

Exactly dobber, the Packers always seem to tell the "Crew" doing the game Sunday, "We'd like to run the ball 25 to 30 times on Sunday", but more times than not they don't or can't because they fall behind or are just ineffective doing it. Houston like Philly has a good Pass Defense though I think Houston's is better. No matter what Michael should be GOOD for at least 15 to 20 plays where he's comfortable with assignments and knows what to do. Actually after 3 weeks you'd hope it's more but you know what I mean.

Clowney being a beast, I hope Aaron Rodgers sprays quick passes to neutralize his bullrushing.

On the other hand, I expect the Packers' secondary to capitalize on Brock Osweiler's relative inexperience and make a couple of interceptions.

I expect Hundley to play a significant number of snaps due to the Packers blowing out the Texans.

I no longer have expectations. For the better part of two seasons, the Lambeau faithful have been treated to uninspired play. It is hard to have expectations for a team that has been throttled at home by the like of the Colts and buried on the road by the Titans...two teams behind the Texans in the AFC South.

What I want is to see a fired up football team laying it on the line for 60 minutes. The score is alway 0-0, whether you are up by three scores or down by three scores.

Rodgers is listed as questionable to play. That places the game as questionable, too.
