Free agent wide receiver Devard Darling thinks he'll soon join an NFL roster.

"The Seattle Seahawks, Oakland Raiders, St. Louis Rams, and the Chicago Bears are showing interest right now," Darling told the Bahama Journal last Friday.

A third-round pick (82nd overall) out of Washington State University by the Baltimore Ravens in 2004, injuries limited Darling to 14 games over his first three seasons in the NFL, where the 6-1, 215-pound receiver managed just two receptions for 5 yards. Darling had a career year in 2007, appearing in all 16 games for the first time in his career and catching 18 passes for 326 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Darling signed a three-year deal with the Chiefs in 2008. A starter in 9 of 16 games in his first season as a Chief, Darling caught 17 passes for 247 yards with a touchdown. Last summer, Darling tore the ACL in his left knee during the second quarter of the third pre-season game and spent the entire season on injured reserve.

The Chiefs released Darling on March 3.

Darling was selected by the Omaha Nighthawks in the 8th round of the 2010 NFL Draft, but does not appear interested in resurrecting his career in that league.

"I have received medical clearance from my doctor’s and look forward to joining an NFL team in the near future," Darling said after being drafted by the UFL. "I have worked hard over the past few months rehabbing my torn ACL and conditioning myself to return to the NFL stronger, quicker, and more determined than ever to make an impact on the field. I have great respect for the UFL; however I will not be signing with one of their teams."
